Hey everyone, as my mom left for work this morning, I asked her what we were having for dinner. She told me that her and my father were having Chili, and told me that me and my bros were having hotdogs She wants me to start dinner before she gets home, so Im making the boys those greasy disgusting hotdogs and I'm making myself tuna noodle casserole Well, when I went into my moms recipe box, I found a recipe for tuna noodle that called for 2 whole eggs, 2 cups milk, sourcream, 2 tbsp butter, so i ditched that one right off the bat!
Okay, at first I was scared because I'm really just a big mess in the kitchen (trust me) So I got online and found heathers recipe (dont have the tofu, hate onions, no "good"milk)Then I wanted to try Amelias (no soup) So I thought Id just make up my own recipe!LOL! First I boiled some wide speghetti noodle and mixed it with a tablespoon applesauce, then I added some white tuna and mixed really well. Then I was going to put some bread crumbs in it, but under the label, the breadcrumbs had some "hidden whole wheat flour" in it, so i subsituted it with a bunch of corn flake crumbs. Then I added some garlic salt and chopped a carrot in there and a tad of water and voila! It actually looked great. I put it in the fridge until the time comes to pop it in the oven. Im not sure how long it will take to cook, so I'll probly just watch it till I think its done. Im so happy, I actually made something! (and w/o a recipe) lol. (Not that Im happy or anything)

Hey Mags, It turned out absolutly FAB! I cooked it for 15 mins on 350 degrees. My moms stuck her nose up at it when I told her the ingredients and made this disgusted like look on her face. Oh well, i dont care, as long as i like it, right?

I'm sure that whoever created PB&J, their mother did the same thing, and look what it's become today...LOL
Good job!

Angela,
Well done, this sounds really good! Could you give me a rough idea of the amounts for the ingredients you used? I'd like to try it. Kerrie

Hey Angela - we're all proud of you. And like Mags said, that how PB&J got started.
Post how you did it and the ingredients. I just can't away from cream of mushroom soup in my tuna casserole, but it doesn't bother me IBS-wise. Did anybody in your fam want to taste it?

That is so awesome Angel - I can't do anything without a recipe to follow. I guess I have tried a few things, but I still really prefer to do something with a recipe.
You did so wonderful! Congrats!

I can't wait to give this a try. I HATE creamy tuna casseroles so this sounds "safe" for me.
