How much magnesium do you need when you take calcium pills. I have calcium pills but I need magnesium. Is there any prescription mecine I can take for my IBS besides Dicetel?

Did you find that Dicetel doesn't work for you either?

I found that it works SOMETIMES!

I took it faithfully and it worked wonderfully for about a week and after that it still didn't do anything. So I just quite taking it.

For a little bit I was taking it whenever I wanted to cheat and it seemed to work. Then that stopped working for me too. Now I don't take anything which probably isn't wise.

I have heard there is a new medication on the market (I'm in Regina). It's supposed to be brand new in Canada - those Americans have probably had it forever. You should check with your doctor and see if there are any new medications available there.

Good Luck and hope you are feeling well soon,

Yah - mine stopped working after about 2 weeks. I am really ok without it though. I mean sometimes I get D still, but I have noticed people who are on the pills still have bad days. So I think I am doing ok.

I have to stick to the diet very strictly though. But whatever keeps me out of the bathroom.

Has anyone tried going off their pills? Just wondering! Or am I totally crazy for doing this? I feel good except for every now and then I will get a bout and spend sometime counting the floor tiles in the bathroom.

I stopped taking mine (Levsinex) daily on March 13. I went for a whole month exactly, then I needed to take it that day. I had to take one again on Tuesday. So, two times in six weeks, I don't think that's bad. They never stopped working for me, I just wanted to try to go without, and only take in emergencies.

Well I finally got permission to take up to 4 levsin a day to control the d. I dont like that though, so i think i'll ake 3 on the bad days and 2 on the normal ones. Its funny, 'cause you just "know" when your gonna have a bad day, ya know?

I was taking zelnorm to make me go... I alternate between C and D. I don't go for days, and then I will go 6 times in one day. At first the zelnorm was great! But now, it is hardly working. *sigh* Back to the doctor...

Dicetel works for me but I wish it was stronger and I wish you didn't have take it with a full glass of water. I'm already so full from excess gas it's really hard to drink it. I never heard of any new medication. I don't have a doc right now. I've been to 2 docs and 1 specialist. All were total morons that should not be docs. How they became docs I shall never know. Idiots.
