Crowd Pleasing Light Oat Bread (Bread Machine) (Makes one 1 1/2 lb loaf)
This is an amazingly light and fluffy bread! It's great toasted and makes fantastic sandwiches.
Ingredients: 1 1/4 cups water 2 Tablespoons soy margarine or canola oil 1 teaspoon salt 3 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 cup rolled oats (I used quick oats--I would also use old-fashioned but not instant!) 2 Tablespoons brown sugar 1 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
1. Place all the ingredients in the order listed or according to the bread machine manufacturer. 2. Select the light setting.
Adapted slightly from a recipe by KitchenManiac at www.recipezaar.com

I've tried an awful lot of recipes, and this is the THE BEST bread machine white bread I've EVER had. I can seriously eat an entire loaf of this stuff in a day, because I can't stop noshing on it. Thanks for another fantastic recipe, Kree!

I've been wondering what kinds of breads I can make in my bread machine that will be good for me, this looks very tasty, i'll try it out tonight! Thanks!
Any other good recipies for bread machines? Are there any non-whitebread recipies that are ok to make that won't cause unhappiness?

Here's a recipe I use weekly. It makes a 2 lb loaf. Oatmeal Nut Bread (Bread Machine):
1 1/2 cups water 2 Tbs powdered soy milk 2 Tbs canola oil 2 Tbs molasses 2 Tbs honey 1 1/2 tsp salt 2 cups whole wheat flour 1 1/2 cups white flour 1/2 cup quick-cooking oats 1 1/2 tsp yeast 1/3 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
Somtimes I make it without the nuts, but I love the hint of nutty flavor when I do use the nuts.

Ooo, looks good too, but i worry about the nuts (i have minor diverticuli...) Can i substitute the nuts for rasins or somthing else?

This looks wonderful. I've been thinking about getting a bread machine. Any brands/model that you recommend? Thanks.

I have a Breadman and I love it. I know some people on the boards rave about the Breadman "Ultimate", but I opted for a slightly less expensive model and it's been wonderful!
