I don't drink so I hate buying a big bottle of something I won't use much of. I've had a bottle of some irish liquor to make Roscommon Bread, and I have that for about 5 years! How could your post possibly insult anyone? Passhaw. I'm not familiar with Irish liquor, but I would not hesitate to substitute wine. Without either, however, I don't know about whether there would be much flavor, DESPITE all the seasonings. According to Mike Roy (the author of that cookbook from whence that recipe came-ith), you need a LOT of flavorings because stuff in crock pots comes out pretty bland. Having said that, aren't most liquors rather pungent or sweet? (I wouldn't know; I'm only a Jack person myself!) You might try it, after all what do you have to lose? I'll bet the flavor might even come out better!
