I was diagnosed with IBS-D about 6 years ago. During the past year, most of the pain was located in my stomach and not my intestines. Is that normal for IBS? It seems like no matter what I eat, my stomach is constantly upset with me going to the bathroom 3-4 or more times per day. I tried no gluten, no lactose, etc. and nothing seems to help. Even the peppermint pills do not seem to help. I do not know what to try next. I am incredibly frustrated at this point. Even my GI doctor has given up on me and told me there was nothing more he could do. I take Dicyclomine for the D part of IBS, but they seem to work only marginally. Any advice?

Hi.....I can def relate. I have been suffering for over 20 yrs with IBS-D. I recently have started strong probiotics, I take Citrucel daily (contrary to popular beliefs, does not CAUSE diarreah)... One Tbs in about 8 oz water in am.....the fiber causes stool to be better formed...so less diarreah. I drink Heathers Fennel tea twice a day.....can use as much as you like...and watch the diet as much as I can.....I have finally started to feel much better...it's not overnight, but def a BIG improvement.....worth a try....feel better.....Barbara
