I really stink at cooking, BUT I suffer from IBS so I better learn! Anybody got any easy recipe ideas out there that I could fix that my 2 year old might actually eat?? If it's simple enough I can cook it, but I've grown up with a grandma and mom who believe in crisco and butter and any kind of fat. I used to love their cooking, but now it may kill me!! I need simplicity seeing as to how I caught my last chicken pie on fire! LITERALLY!!

I didn't know how to cook before ibs. make sure to double or triple check things make sure you measure everything exactly and watch the time, you can't always go exactly by the recipe because cooking times can vary.. BLT pasta salad is easy. oh and I used a can of hunt's all natural crushed tomatoes, the juice of the tomatoes, some flavor from the vegenaise, and the bacon is really good. Look for jennio low fat turkey bacon or another turkey bacon,if it seems a little high in fat, just don't use much of it then.
I cut up turkey bacon into tiny pieces so its like bacon bits, cook that in some oil, cook macaroni or some rotini pasta, I left out lettuce and substituted celery, cut up small and cooked well, mix bacon, and celery in pasta, add some Vegenaise, not alot but so you can mix it in all the pasta and make it moist and have flavor.

I personally suggest that you purchase BOTH of Heather's books, read them thoroughly, and then go from there. There are some basics, and great tasting recipes as well. If your child is introduced to these foods he/she will come to absolutely LOVE eating healthy... simple recipes.

Many of us grew up with Mom's and Grandma's who used bacon fat in just about everything...
