I have to cook my husband a seperate meal as well. It's not that he makes me...but honestly his system can't handle our food.

We don't know what it is...but all the fruits, vegetables, soy etc he can't hack it! He gets D from it all!

So we now have to prepare two meals.

I shouldn't say "I" have to cook two meals...because honestly since I have gotten pregnant I have been so tired he has been taking to cooking two meals LOL

That's my man ladies...keep your hands off LOL

Serve him an ADB and he WOULD kick me out of bed!!!!

You don't tell a crusty old retired Air Force Colonel (pilot) what to do period, let alone what to eat. It's all ok, he spoils me rotten. I just love to address him as "The Kerrrr---nehhhl" (said with a long drawn out southern accent) in certain circles of friends.

Like he says, in his day they didn't have such a thing as cholesterol, but if they did they'd a fried it!!!!

Kree knows I'm originally a northerner----Rochestarian, to be exact, and hey, we won "the" war anyway didn't we??

Actually, wanna know a little known fact? Know what part of the country eats the most vegetables?
You're not going to believe this, but it is the south. I figure it's because they are either fried or creamed so they taste good…………..

But would I WANT to eat that way? Nope, never have, never will………………but I DO love okra, rutabagas, and greens…………

But then I adore YOU.................How's the job market looking?

BTW, I finally got some Better than Rice beverage mix.......it's different, and needs a mixer to get to mix but once I get used to it and start playing around with it in recipes it may fit the bill for a lot of things.

I must have missed the thread about Better Than Rice Beverage Mix. What is it and what can you do with it?
Thanks,
Joan

Hi Joan, Do a search on sweetened condensed milk and it should show up. I wish I had the link of the thread for you. (I'm not the best at the searches.) Better than milk is a dry powder, in rice or soy. You can make it as weak or as strong as you like, just like powdered non-fat or low fat milk. I finally found it in a health food store some distance from me, but you can order it on line. Here is a link to see what it looks like:

I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. I'm going to have to use it for more things before I can tell, but will post any findings.

I'm glad you like the new pic. You can actually see my face in that one, lol.

I haven't started braving the job market yet. There's one local school district that starts interviewing in Feb for next Fall, but most wait until Spring or so. In other words, I can put it off a little longer! I'm not looking forward to the stress of interviewing and having a new teaching job, because I'm afraid of what it will do to my IBS! But I guess I'll just have to face those obstacles when they come along!

So you did get the Better than Rice mix? Hmm, sounds interesting to say the least. You'll have to let us know what your final verdict is when you've had a chance to try it again.

So how are things going for you? I hope your holidays were great and that you're having a good week. TTYS!

Hmmm, sounds like you have a wait for job prospects, and even the jobs themselves. Ever think about substituting in the meantime? It will get your feet wet, and if you want to try out the stress levels it produces, this is a good way to find out, except for the fact that you don't have to go back the next day if it was a bust.
When I was fresh out of college there were NO teaching jobs. Some of my friends went to Australia because they were needed there, and offered good positions. I didn't go but always regretted it. I sub'd for 3 years straight locally until an opening came up. It boiled down to a better position coming up, I went on to adult ed and never looked back.
Good luck to you....I know you will do fine....

I'm usually NEVER sick but I've been sick for almost 2 weeks, thus the reason I've had more computer time. Bad cold that Xmas company brought and left for me. Seems like the head/chest are finally opening up and will drain so seems I'll be on the road to recovery soon. Thanks for asking....

Hi Kandee! Are you still teaching adult ed? That sounds like it could be pretty interesting to me. It's too bad you regret not going to AUS. I really think everything happens for a reason, so maybe that wasn't meant to be. I'd love to go there (I have an ex from Melbourne!), but I'm too much of a homebody. I'll probably stay in the Rochester area for the rest of my life!

I've actually been planning on applying for some subbing jobs once I get into the swing of this semester. I subbed once about a year ago, and had a terrible experience. I got the call late and was barely able to sqeak in before the kids, so right from the start I was frazzled. Then the kids turned out to be absolute brats (I've since discovered it's not a great district), and to top it off the stress made my IBS flare up and I felt sick most of the morning and had to run to the bathroom as soon as I dropped them off at specials! It was such a bad experience I haven't gone back. But lately I've been thinking that I really need to get back on the horse and try it again, so I plan to very soon. Wish me luck!

Oh no, I'm sorry you've been sick! My parents have both been sick for the past couple of weeks, too, and are finally starting to get better. I can't believe I haven't caught it yet. It sounds like you're on the same sickness schedule! I hope you get well soon!
