questions about heather's winter squash and white bean soup

well I was in a hurry and saw those first.
It says 2 cans of great northern white beans..but all I could find was a bag of them..can I use that?
also,is the butternut squash SF? wal mart only had one left..is one butternut sqash enough for 4 cups?

You would have to follow the directions on the bag to cook the beans. Dried beans have to be soaked in water before you can cook them. They can't be put right in a receipe like canned beans.
I think I have seen Great Northern Canned beans at Wal-Mart in the past. I am going over there this afternoon and will look.
I don't eat Butternut squash very often so I don't know a whole lot about it. One squash could be enough but it would depend on the size.

Just got back from Wal-Mart. The store up here does have canned Great Northern Beans and the company is Hanover. I know you already have the dried beans but info for future shopping.

ok well I"m from ND. perhaps I will do the quick soak,and cook the beans today and put them in the frige and then use them thursday night in the recipe.

puree all ingredients in blender to make it more safe..plus it tastes better that way also,its sooo gooood!
