Since my IBS started I cannot tolerate garlic at all- it is my worse trigger. Do you know how hard it is to buy somethings without some form of it.

Maybe when I get my IBS under control I'll be able to tolerate it...hopefully you will too! Totaly! I try to avoid garlic as much as possible--and it is one of my favorite spices!! Hopefully we'll be able to eat it again someday when our IBS is under control!

Good luck!

Ruchie- I am glad to hear I am not alone. I miss normal bought pasta sauce, ceasar salad etc......but it is not worth the suffering.

I LOOOVE garlic, love it, love it, but I can only tolerate it well-cooked (e.g., in pasta sauce). Partially cooked? Forget it. Worst of all? Garlic powder! I don't even own any anymore, I gave it to one of my friends. So at least for me, the dried form is definitely worse than the real thing.

Angela - try garlic powder instead of the salt? It's more concentrated with no salt.

I can't have garlic either. Gives gas, bloating, gas pains, gas cramps.

Garlic bothers me too, and so do many other spices. I have learned to eat bland foods. YUCK!

I cannot tolerate fresh garlic, but the jared kind is fine (comes either minced or chopped) and you can find it in most grocery stores. I think the garlic causes some many problems since it is a natural dietetic, and for those who have more IBS-d it is going to affect it more.
