I used Ka-Me Hoisin Sauce for years. It came in a nice little jar and was dark, thick, and wonderful in recipes. Now they've changed the ingredients and it comes in an ugly bottle and is a weird shade of red and thin as water and my much loved recipes taste terrible.

Does anyone have a brand of Hoisin Sauce they love and can recommend?

I use Dynasty Hoisin Sauce. It is thick and has very good flavor.

Lee Kum Kee is awesome and Kikkoman I believe is also safe. They changed the recipe of the Sun Luck and the other common one is yucky -real red. Oh sorry that is Ka-me.
I love hoisin sauce!

I get the Lee Kum Kee at the Asian store in a big squeeze bottle like ketchup, but it is at supermarkets too. I squeeze it on stuff all the time.

Thanks, LM. I'm off to the store this weekend to see what I can find.

I emailed Ka-Me and told them I hated their new hoisin recipe and asked them to recommend another brand that tasted like theirs used to. They wrote back and said they were reformulating their hoisin sauce to taste more like it used to. It should be available this summer. If I see it and try it, I'll report back. It used to be wonderful.

I found the Kikkoman Hoisin Sauce and it's dark and rich and smells yummy. I used it to make Peking Burgers and they were fabulous.

Thank you so much for your help!
