Dunno if they look safe but they sure look good!!
Their page doesn't fully load for me to see all the stuff, but aren't all doughnuts fried?

OK... their page fully loaded for me now. According to the site, their patented cooking process allows them to make the doughnuts without deep-frying them.
I can't answer to how they taste because I've never tried them, but they'd have to VERY good to warrant the price. $12 for six doughnuts??? (not including the shipping)

I didn't check every single flavor but the ones I did check said:
Quote:
Contains wheat and traces of milk, soy and egg yolk. Holey Donuts!® does not use any nuts other than a coconut topping on selected donuts.
The FAQ page says:
Quote:
We do not use nuts in any of our donuts but we do use coconut on select donuts. Our donuts do contain wheat and dairy.
Wheat is fine. Coconut is fine except for the fat and the fat levels on all the donuts I checked are below 25%. I think the dairy and the egg yolks are the only questions. If they're truly only a trace ingredient, I'd say give them a try. If they're in the first few ingredients the donuts are less likely to be safe.
I did find this diet site that lists the ingredients in Holey Donuts as:
Quote:
Ingredients: Wheat flour, niacin, iron, thiamin mononitrate, fiboflavin, folic acid, dextrose, soybean oil. Contains less than 2% of-salt, dairy blend (whey solids, nonfat dry milk, sodium caseinate), leaviening (sodium acid pryophosphate, baking soda)soy flour, dried egg yolks, mono and diglycerides, citric acid added as preservative, sodium stearoly lactylate (dough conditioner), vegetable color (annatto and turmeric) contains wheat egg milk and soy.
Glaze ingredients: Sugar, Water, corn starch, corn syrup, food starch-modified, wheat starch, agar, guar gum, potassium sorbate (as preservative), citric acid, silicon dioxide, artificial flavor, dextrose, 101904 (L).
If that's accurate, I'd give them a try since both the dairy and the egg yolk are pretty far down on the list.
They are awfully expensive and there are donut recipes in the Recipe Index although I've never tried them.
HTH.
