Pages: 1 chocolate cake mix       #340681 - 01/11/09 01:12 AM Edit Reply Quote patay Reged: 01/27/07 Posts: 2 Hi All, I came across a chocolate cake mix that was so good I had to post. It was the 365 Organic Brand found at Whole Foods, called Organic Chocolate Cake mix. I baked a batch of cupcakes using this mix with an egg substitute and Earth Balance margarine. I was amazed at how moist and delicious they were. I have tried dairy-free cakes before and was kind of disappointed at the flavor and texture, but this one was a real find. I didn't try subbing applesauce for the margarine to reduce the fat, but probably will next time. Total fat calculated on the box was 11g per 1/12 of a cake. Don't know if my Better'n Eggs substitute has less fat than whole eggs, but I'm guessing it does.
