When my mom made this around Christmas 3 years ago . . . I never thought it would become a staple in my house hold at this time!
It's easy to make and is very versatile. I've taken to mixing up the dry ingredients into ziploc bags (which I reuse) and storing them in my freezer.

3 c. self-rising flour
3 T. sugar (I use two packets of sugar in the raw)
pinch of sea salt
1 12 oz can/bottle of regular beer (not light), room temp.

Mix dry ingredients. Add beer. Knead. Place in well greased (I used organic coconut oil) bread pan. Bake 375 degrees for 30 to 40 min (ubtil a knife comes out clean.

Let me know what you think!

Does the beer in it upset your tummy, or does the alcohol cook out when you bake it?

The alcohol should cook off. And the carbonation would be gone by the time this cooks, so I think it would be safe.

My husband has been hinting that he wants me to try making Guinness Bread (my Irish hubby's favorite beer!) - maybe I'll give it a try with this recipe!!

The alcohol cooks out . . . I've been meaning to try it w/ Guinness . . . Let me know how it works for you, if you do!

My mom also mentioned trying a breakfast bread variant with it: Hard Cider & adding warm kitchen spices (ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg & ground cloves). I haven't tried it yet, but just thinking about it makes me hungry!!!
