I can't do hfc so therefore I can't do applesauce or pears right? I need a sub for applesauce when you bake to cut down on the oil. Won't pumpkin give it a pumpkin taste? thanks emmasmom

Cookies and breads don't get an apple-y taste when you sub applesauce, so why would pumpkin be any different? You can really use any fruit or vegetable puree that you want. Whatever is safe for you.

What do you mean by "hfc"? High fructose corn syrup?? If you buy unsweetened, there shouldn't be any of that in applesauce....

You could try mashed bananas as well. Many who are fructose sensitive can tolerate bananas..
