Can you replace soy yougurt in a recipe?

Hi I was wondering if yyou can replace the soy yougurt in a recipe I can't do doy. Its only 1/4 of a cup. Thanks emmasmom ibs-c gas

What about using applesauce instead? I guess it would depend on what it is. YOu could also so 1/4 of canola oil because that amount isn't too much. What are you making??

Ok. Quick question.
Are you SURE you can't do soy yogurt? Have you tried it before? I only ask because I can't tolerate soy milk, soy cheese OR soy ice cream at all, but I can tolerate soy yogurt fine. I think it's the live cultures in it, I don't know. Maybe it's the fermentation. Anyway, just curious.

I'd try rice milk mixed with lemon juice or vinegar to make "buttermilk". Take at look at the Nothin To It Muffins to see how much milk to how much souring. The recipe calls for soy milk and vinegar but I've successfully used rice milk and lemon juice. I've also used just rice milk with no souring and the muffins were fine.

I am going to give it a try soon. Cause I can't do any of those either but this maybe worth a try. thanks. I lkie the rice yougyrt but it gives me gas like crazy for days... thanks I'll let ya know when I try it. Emmasmom ibs-c gas
