I have a package of sweet italian turkey sausage. Can I used this in place of hotdogs with the casings? Also, can I remove the casings and use it with pasta? Thanks!

I use it as ground sausage in pasta... (remove the casing)... the casing IS edible just like any other sausage casing BUT it is made out of PORK, it is NOT safe most people with IBS.

There are turkey products that are more like hot dogs. Really there are a lot of turkey and chicken products like that out there now. For the Italian kind I just use in pasta-type dishes.

Thanks Little Minnie. I was actually looking at turkey and chicken hotdogs last night in the supermarket and I got weirded out when I read that both were mechanically separated. What the hell does that mean? Obviously, it's by a machine but I don't understand why they have to put that in the ingredients?
