food to take on a plane?

I posted this on the diet board, but had no response. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for food to take for lunch that will keep without a coldpack or thermus to take on a plane for 5 hours. I'm IBS-C, so as much IF as possible. Is there anything I can take besides a peanut or almond butter sandwich? I've taken cucumber avocado sushi before and that seemed to keep well. I was thinking maybe a salad with beans, because chicken would go bad. If anyone has any sandwich or salad ideas that would be great, as well as any other snacks besides dried fruit, fresh fruit, prezels, crackers, nuts, and baby carrots.

You could take individual servings of unsweetened apple sauce or, if you tolerate them, some Luna bars. Can you tolerate any of the 100 Calorie packs from Nabisco? I like the cinnamon grahams variety.

Thank you so much. Also, I will definitely take Lara Bars. I love those. And today I found soy jerky at Whole Foods.

Turkey jerky is also a great option! Lara Bars contain too much IF for me -- maybe it would be okay after eating something higher in SF. I do fine with Luna Bars, which contain more SF.

I added to your other post because I couldn't find this one. DUH, here it is.

Dumb question but what are Lara Bars or do you mean Luna Bars??

Lara Bars are dairy-free, gluten-free energy bars that contain fruits and nuts and spices. They're higher in insoluble fiber.
Luna Bars are nutrition bars which contain added vitamins and minerals, soy protein, brown rice sugar, and come in many different flavors. They're higher in soluble fiber. Luna Bars are dairy free, but NOT gluten free.
Both bars are made with mostly organic ingredients.
HTH! They both taste great, but I find the Luna Bars to be more tolerable.

Gottcha! I am a huge Luna Bar fan so I know those I just had never heard of the Lara Bars. Not something I could eat with the dairy in them. Thanks Maria!
