Here is a recipe brought by a classmate that may be modified for IBS. It looked so good, but I need some help with the modifications:
1 chocolate cake mix, bake as directed (I'm sure there is a chocolate cake recipe in the index that will suffice) After baking, crumble the entire cake Add two heaping spoonfuls of prepared chocolate frosting to the cake (7 minute frosting, maybe?) Mush it all together with your hands and then shape into small balls Melt chocolate candy coating (this is the ingredient that I'm struggling to modify) Dip balls into candy coating and place on wax paper
Let me know what you think may work...

Could you melt some dairy-free chocolate chips?

Yeah, I think that would work. I know Ghiradelli (sp?) chocolate has a dairy free version. I'm a little concerned about the fat grams though.
I just didn't know if regular chocolate would coat the balls adequately. She specifically said chocolate candy coating. I didn't know what the difference was...

I have to admit that the first thing that came to mind when I saw your post was the "Schwetty Balls" sketch that Alec Baldwin did on Saturday Night Live!! HA!

Don't worry, I thought of the same thing.

Alec Baldwin is my favorite SNL host.
-------------------- IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!
