If you haven't already tried this recipe, try it!! The maple oat bread from Heather's "The First Year" book is fabulous! I made it last night b/c bread is a good snack food to bring to work. When I go home tonight I want to eat the rest of it!!!!

I made it today and as soon as I got it out of the pan I cut a piece. I couldn't even wait till it cooled, it is really good. The house smelled great and I could still smell it when I got home a couple hours later.

I can't wait to try Heather's other bread recipes (I've also tried the brown sugar banana bread which is THE BEST banana bread I have ever tasted. Ever!!!)

I love it when my house smells like fresh baked bread

The banana bread is great too. It was a hit snack for my daughter's pre-school class. My favorite so far has to be the sweet-tart orange cranberry bread. I made it for Thanksgiving and loved it. I love anything orange. I have to try some of the others soon. I just bought a new loaf pan because the other one was leaving metal stuff on the bread. yuck. I got tired of putting wax paper in the pan to keep it off. I also have a mini loaf pan I love. I use it for the corn bread so we can each have an individual loaf, plus it takes less time. That, corn bread, has to be my husband's favorite bread.

I can't wait to try the corn bread and some of the other ones. The "mini loaf" is a good idea! I'll have to look for some.

I made the cornbread about a month ago. A friend came over & tried it, and he's from "down south", so he considers himself somewhat of a cornbread connoisseur. I didn't tell him it was a "special" cornbread, and he was still raving about it a few days later..lol

I LOVE Heather's breads. My favs are sunshine bread, banana, & the apple walnut (the other bread from the First Year).
