Does anyone have the ingredient list for Bisquick?

I found this in my mom's recipe book. You can use the mix just as you would use Bisquick. It calls for dry non-fat milk (powdered milk). I *think* there is a safe dry soymilk substitute, but not totally sure. I'm also not sure about if the amount of shortening is excessive for us IBSrs.

8 cups all purpose flour
1 tablespoons baking powder
1 tablespoon salt
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 cups dry non-fat powdered milk
2 cups shortening

Mix all dry ingredients in large bowl. Cut in shortening, a little at a time. Mixture will be mealy with mixed adequately. Store in air tight container, use within 3 months.

You can find powdered soy milk -- but the fat in this recipe is going to be way too high. Not only is 2 cups of shortening too much, but powdered soy milk is usually 25-50% calories from fat.

Here's a lower-fat recipe. I bookmarked this recipe ages ago but haven't tried it yet:

Reduced-Fat Biscuit Mix

This is also a lot cheaper (powdered soy milk is expensive). If anyone tries it, let me know how it turns out.

(Although it doesn't say so in the recipe, I would store this in the refrigerator.)

The recipe doesn't mention oven temperature or how long to bake. Help me out and give me an idea. Pretty please.

The link is to a recipe for the Bisquick mix itself. Meaning, that in recipes where it calls for X cups Bisquick, you can substitute X cups of the baking mix. I'm sorry if my post was confusing.

Thanks Jen for your lower fat posting! I wasn't sure if mine could be modified or not.
