When a receipe calls for cream/milk (you know-our old food receipes) what would you use as a subsitute.

Soy milk or rice milk - whatever your dairy sub of choice is.

I use powdered soy milk for things like mac & cheese because my regular brand is too sweet.

I agree - just use rice milk or soy milk to substitute for milk in "old recipes. If you need to substitute for cream, here are a couple of old posts about that:
