I can post the recipe later, but in general, if you're halving (making half the amount of the recipe) a slow cooker recipe, would you reduce the cooking time as well?
I have a turkey sloppy joe recipe that makes 24 servings, but I only need 12, so I thought I'd just make half if possible. Thanks!

I don't know if I'd quite half the time... maybe leave it in for about 3/4?? Slow cookers are very forgiving, so even if you leave it in a little longer it should probably be fine. Funny... I'm using my crockpot today, too, because it's too hot to turn on the stove!

12 servings is still a pretty big recipe, so it'll probably take about the same time to cook. I second what Kree says - crockpots are so forgiving, and with something that's cooking in a sauce like that (sloppy joe, chili), it's almost impossible to overcook it.
Chicken breasts are about the only thing I can think of that you can ruin in a crockpot. LOL!

Do roughly the same time. Why don't you freeze the other half into dinner size portions? A great supper on a busy night! That's what I do with chili. Do a mondo huge batch and freeze most of it. Yum!
