Does anyone know a levening agent for baking other than baking powder or baking soda?
This 8 yr. old is allergic to all glutens and those two items , and I want to make a cake or bar or something without those items.

If you go to a health food store you SHOULD be able to find GF baking powder and maybe even soda... it might even be in the "bulk bins" so you can just get a little. Ask someone there to help you find it. Gluten free baking is becoming more and more of the "norm" there are lots of options out there now. If all else fails and you have a Whole Foods near you....they have LOTS of gluten free items already baked in the bakery ready to go.

Thanks, I haven't had much luck in our "rural" area and the health food stores. They're too small and we have no bakeries that do gluten free. Angel food cake receipes sound good.
