My sister bought me a steamer for Christmas and I have yet to use it! I feel horrible b/c she always asks if I have made anything with it. Do any of yall have one? And if so, what do you cook in it? I have no idea!

Steamers are great for just about anything.

You can steam homemade dumplings, a nice piece of fish, or eve n just some plain veggies. No need for a huge recipe.

You can also steam rice, if you don't have a rice cooker.

easy to steam chicken breasts ...

put some lemon juice in the water at the bottom of the steamer, place some chicken breasts in the steamer basket with a cut-up lemon and some garlic cloves, season with salt and pepper, and steam for about 20 min (check for doneness but know that when you open it up you let a lot of steam out so it will need a longer time to cook). super easy. Have some rice on the side and you're good to go. Fish too, the same way.

I LOVE MY STEAMER! It's AWESOME! Just throw some broccoli in there and steam it till it's all floppy and soft. The broccoli retains it's nice dark green color, and it's not all cooked to mush, yet easy to digest. I squirt some mustard and Worchestershire sauce over it before I gobble it down. It's YUMMY!

It's amazing how delightful perfectly steamed food tastes! I bought some tempeh yesterday, and can hardly wait to steam it.
Believe it or not, tofu is really nice steamed with a nice gingery toasted sesame soy (or Bragg's amino acids) kind of sauce--especially on those weak tummy kind of days. You can steam all kinds of things simultaneously.
