Is it safe to use instant white rice such as Kraft Minute Instant Enriched Long Grain Rice. I want to add rice to my diet, but did not know if the Instant rices where okay.

Thanks,
Thomas

As long as it's plain rice, and not anything with flavoring in it, it should be just fine. Just keep in mind, if you try any recipes from here on the boards or Heather's books, that the rice called for is regular rice, so you'll need to adjust the recipes to account for the short cooking time.

Honestly, I rarely use regular rice.

I use Uncle Ben's quick cooking brown rice, and the Kraft stuff as well. I've never had any problems with it.

I always use the partcooked Uncle Ben's ones.
Some of the microwavable ones have flavourings or oil as ingredients but as a rule, as long as it's just rice or other safe ingredients in there, then you are just fine.
