It's too bad that Hip Whip is so high in fat. Why can't they ever seem to make LF soy or rice alternatives?? It really limits how much we can add. Grr.

I found it one day and just about screamed in the store. But it is by the waffles and not the soy ice cream which I find strange- easy to miss.

Ooh, thanks Kandee! Cool Whip bothered me once even before they added the dairy, so I've just been avoiding whipped toppings. I'll definitely give this one a try.

Hey Kree, I know what you mean. Even pre-IBS Cool Whip never agreed with me. When you try it please post your results...Shell put me on to Vance's Dari Free...I'm hooked...it's dry and you can mix it as thick as you like.........It's awesome and I use it for all sorts of things, especially cream sauces and quick smoothies. I think it has some fructose, but not HFCS. Some HFS carry it or you can order it on line. I'm going to try using it for this recipe making it more the consistency of half and half..this recipe of Bev's is just to good not to try........even if you're not on WW.

OMG these are sooooooo good! I do not know how I am not going to eat the whole pan in one night. Other than I am afraid I will put myself into an attack!! I can tolerate Cool Whip in small quantities. Thank you Bevrs for sharing!!!

I'm glad you're enjoying them. Didja cut them into individual servings before they froze too hard? They get REAL hard, just like ice cream, so ya gotta freeze the whole thing for 2 hours, then cut them into servings and pop 'em back in the freezer. Barbie said she ended up with a frozen mass that was too hard to cut.

Ain't this fun?

I used

1 C fat-free Cool Whip
1/4 C reduced-fat crunchy peanut butter
7 oz jar marshmallow creme
too much of a 3.4 package of cook-and-serve chocolate pudding mix (probably more like 2 ounces -- I was too lazy to measure and dumped WAY too much in)

They're good, but sticky -- I should have lined the pan with wax paper. It is also a bit gritty from all that pudding mix. I knew it was the wrong kind going in, but thought what the heck!! Since it is sweet enough as it is, I think I'd probably just sift in some cocoa powder instead. I would also nix the marshmallow creme and just use an entire 8 oz tub of ff Cool Whip instead. The only reason I tried the creme is because I have a ton of it that I need to use up (and a $.69 tub of marshmallow creme that I need to get rid of anyway is a heck of a lot cheaper than a $4 pint of ice cream).

Actually, I wonder what if would be like if you mixed in with PB with a whole tub of the chocolate-flavored Cool Whip and froze it? Hmmmm.
