I went to look at rice steamers and many seem to resemble "slow cookers." The other style was a "tier" steamer with levels to steam different foods, including rice (or a grain).

Just wondering re: what the better option would be.

Any input? The prices were similar.

I just am clueless re: what is the best "choice." However, I tend to agree with you.
