Emily you are so young... only 12 years old... Are you doing all your own cooking or do your parents help you?
Do you have any health food stores in your neck of the woods? Email me your city/town & zipcode and I will try to help you find something. Shell1970@aol.com

Hi sweetie!! You will have to have someone drive you there, it is about 18-20 miles away...but that is only like 15-20 mins away. You should be able to find most of the items you are looking for. Please note they are usually more expensive then say items you would buy at Albertsons.

OK, do you have Heather's books or new DVD yet? If not, maybe you can put them on your Christmas List?

Ask your parents to get IBS: The First Year, and the cookbook Eating for IBS. They are both available on this site and on amazon.com. Have them read them with you so you can understand your condition better, and so you can understand the principles of the diet instead of trying to memorize good and bad foods. I was 21 when I got diagnosed with IBS and my mom STILL read the book with me so she'd be able to understand and help -- and I didn't even live with her anymore. It's important that you read these books and have your parents' help. The information on this site is very helpful but it's not complete. Think of it as a question-and-answer forum for additional stuff not covered in the books. I hope that helps, hon.
