i bought some sweet rice (Rooster Brand) at the grocery store the other day...but there are no cooking instructions..i was curious if someone knows how to cook it properly? thank you! kristen

Kristen - You really had me puzzled with "sweet" rice At first I thought you meant Jasmine rice ( which is my very favorite rice) but after doing a search, I came up with the following. The cooking method sounds long, and like you need some special equipment. I'm still not sure this is the rice you are talking about but click the link below and see:

I was never very good at cooking rice...either too soggy or lumpy, etc., etc. About 10 months ago our local ALDIS store offered a small rice cooker for $9.95 so I bought one. Let me tell you, it's one of the best small kitchen appliances I ever bought! It does a wonderful job, rice comes out perfect every time. I'd be lost without it because I do eat a lot of rice, at least once or twice a week. I like it because I can turn it on and forget about it, and it keeps the rice warm and fluffy.

thank you for your help..yup they also call it..sticky or glutinous rice it's too bad i have to use that method..i wish it was easier and i didn't have to buy all that stuff that i don't have the kitchen space for.

i want a rice cooker so bad..i like jasmine rice as well and would like to be able to cook it properly ...it just isn't the same without the rice cooker... it's on the top of my christmas wishlist =oD can't wait! kristen
