I was getting really bored with chicken and rice so I decided to try some French Toast. I just mixed egg whites, soy milk and some ground cinnamon. Bought a really good loaf of French bread and cut some nice and thick slices and let them soak for a minute. Used Pam spray and they came out great. When they were done I sprinkled a little more cinnamon and poured on some 100% pure Vermont Maple syrup. So delicious. Not exactly the same with missing the egg yolks and butter, but what a delicious treat!!!

Try using Egg Beaters...they are really just egg whites....but they trick my tastebuds all the time!!

Oh, don't you love french toast? Some of Heather's recipes are fantastic. I like the ones with the plums. Fantastic treat on a Saturday morning!

I use vanilla soy milk -- so that adds a little sweetness there.. but it really is nice.

Should I feel guilty that I've made french toast for dinner 4 out of the last 7 nights??? How could something that tastes this good be good for you? LOL

I can't find a french bread that isn't in a long baguette shape!

I've been using a really good french bread that I can get in A&P supermarkets. They have their own brand of gourmet/bakery style breads. Master Choice. They have a really good Sourdough too.

Nah! Just use some of the recipes with fruit so you get some fruit with insoluble fiber and its vitamins and you're good. French toast is one of my favorite treats on Saturday mornings!
