I have been giving my recipe book a work out lately...
I have made the Great Grandma's Chocolate Cake and the Sweet Tart Cranberry Orange Bread.
Both are so excellent. So Far nothing has beat Grandma's recipe, but I am a chocoholic so maybe some would call me bias. LOL.

Can you believe I have not tried the chocolate cake yet? I do love the sweet tart cranberry orange bread and my husband went out to buy lemons so I could make the lemon bread again. How does you recipe book look? Mine is falling apart. Maybe I should request a new one for Christmas. By then it should be a complete mess. I have had my book for one full year now.

You HAVE to try the choc applesauce cake! I can't believe I waited this long to try it. I have tons and tons of cookbooks, some of which I've had for many years - I got my first one as a gift in grade school! Anyway, out of them all, this is the one I've used most, and it looks it! I am not a very tidy cook, so this doesn't help much.

I finally bought more bread pans so I can make more at one time. I hate waiting for the bread to bake and then I have to clean up the pan and start over. I hate cleaning up my messes so then it takes me a while to get back to them. The bread has scared me away just because of the amount of applesauce. I think I have enough now to make it so I will have to.
BTW my mom bought me a cookbook holder with a clear splash guard for Christmas last year. It has helped but you should see the clear splash guard. I have the hardest time cleaning it. Can you tell I am not the best house cleaner. Calling my neat freak sister, HELP!!

Atleast I know I am not alone Ladies....last night while making the bread I dumped some of my orange juice onto the book.
Atleast I know I am not alone.
Torbetta! You must must must try the chocolate cake. It is so good. My husband just gobbled it up.
Last night while he was gobbling down the Sweet Tart Bread (he's the sampler) He said "Honey, I am so glad you got IBS and had to learn to cook." LOL. He meant well LOL

That is TOO funny, Lana! My brother has commented that ever since I got IBS and started cooking more, I don't go over to my mom's house for a free meal as much!
