I made the Cantonese Jok (rice porridge) from the IBS Cookbook yesterday and Heather suggests things like scallions, soy sauce, shrimp for toppings. Has anyone ever used anything else to turn it into a "breakfast" like soup? IE, bananas, honey, etc? Just checking...Thanks!

I've eaten it for b'fast. I just added soy sauce, sesame seeds and garlic powder. It really kicks those salty cravings right in the you-know-where.

I've also tried it with a little bit of honey and brown sugar. It's pretty good. I've never liked the whole fruit-in-my-cereal thing, and I don't put fruit in oatmeal, etc.
