Has anyone tried the European meat substitute "quorn?" I'm a vegetarian and some of heather's chicken recipes look so good. It's made from mycoprotein, which is related to mushrooms, I guess and none of the other ingredients are triggers. It says it has lots of fiber. I'm assuming that would be soluble fiber if it comes from mushrooms. Anyone had experiences with it?

Hi! We (my husband and I) are strict vegetarians and eat Quorn all of the time. We think it's very tasty, especially the herb breaded cutlets. As far as chicken substitutes go, it's not bad, but it's no Veat. It has a very distinctive taste- sometimes I think more fishy than chickeny. Anyway, it's good, and I suggest giving it a go.

Yes, I eat quorn quite a lot. I live in Sweden where you can find it in almost every food store I've never had problems with it.

What is this Veat that you speak of, jenny? Somthing a fellow veggie might want to look into?

maybe I will try some quorn, too, but I never noticed it anywhere, but I am sure that I would find it.
