I made the manhatten clam chowder today and put in canned mushrooms - are they a pro or con? Thanks

There's not really any such thing as a "pro" and a "con"... well, ok, except for the trigger foods that are triggers straight across the board (red meat, dairy, fats, and such).
Mushrooms are considered soluble fiber.

mushrooms are generally safe, but I always used fresh so I have no idea if there are possible chemical triggers in a can (like MSG)

My can of mushrooms says:
Ingredients: Mushrooms, water, salt, citric acid and ascorbic acid (to preserve color)
As far as I know, all those ingredients are fine. I use canned mushrooms a lot in recipes and have never had any trouble with them.
