Anyone know of any? Icees as well? Or am I doomed to an ice cream less life forever??? *puts hand on head*

Seriously...at least a recipe perhaps? I haven't had the stuff in so long it almost doesn't matter anymore...but reading about the Hagen Daaz made me crave it!

Thanks

anything you like as a liquid/pudding can go in an ice cream maker... so get one and experiment with what tastes good, I've been thinking about trying a mint sorbet- just mint tea, mint leaves and maybe some fruit to add a bit of a solid kick... but I think it might be yummy on its own!

I think I'll ask Santa for an ice cream maker next Christmas.
Oh, wait, my birthday is in June. I substitue sorbet, currently. Sometimes, I like freezing smoothies. I just put the fruit through the food processor. Papaya and mango are wonderful. There are some gf and dairy free lowfat products available. I had a great green tea one last year. Tea ices--now you're talking. Half the time, I drinking a tea and think, "now this would be a beautiful pseudo-ice cream." I guess you could buy guar gum or xanthan gum to give it that "gum." Lemongrass sorbet. Yum.

I can't remember if you eat fruit, so not sure if this would work for you, it's a recipe I used a lot in my Weightwatcher days:

frozen banana chunks (essential)
buttermilk (could maybe sub soya or rice?)
blueberries (optional)

Combine all in food mixer - no need for icecream maker - blend till smooth and serve immediately.

Sorry I can't remember quantities - but it's not the kind of recipe where you have to be precise anyway!

Any fruit would work, but banana is essential for sweetness (and SF).

Hope this helps.

Do you have an ice cream maker? They're fairly inexpensive and do a good job. That way you can control the ingredients that go into it. I've made Heather's chocolate silk pudding/ice cream in it and it was divine.

I am going to try- I think... freezing the non dairy whipped topping recipe I posted here with some fruit blended in (berries) or some cocoa in it... it was yummy.. with a dash of vanilla added it worked wonderfully too... and would work well as an ice cream I think once frozen- so light and airy...
