No...you just plop the noodles in a bowl though I would recommend rinsing them (it makes the noodles less sticky). They look like nests when you get them in the bowl.

I didn't take noodle weaving 101 in college...so I was afraid I wasn't going to be able to make this! Can you imagine me trying to weave noodles into a nest shape? Sometimes I can really say dorky things!
Casey, have you made this soup before? How much cabbage and onions did you make? Is it a green head of cabbage in the produce aisle? I never bought cabbage before and don't know if it's canned or what! 
Does it make three servings....since it says 3 "nests" (noodle weaves)? 
But, I was really thinking I was missing something here!

I usually use green onions, cilantro and bean sprouts. Authentic Vietnamese noodle shops will place a plate full of leafy greens to go in your soup. I love them but can't identify them all and alas most of the folks that work there speak only vietnamese!
