Does anyone know how to use one? How do you get the steamer to sit in the wok? I wasn't supposed to keep those metal racks that came with the wok was I? I threw them out long ago.

I think you did need those. Well, I don't know how to fix the situation with the bamboo steamer, but I can tell you that Black & Decker makes a great steamer... web page

Oh that sucks! I wanted to use my new steamer at my party but then I was wondering how it sits above the water. I will look at the store for racks.

I never thought I would need that round steamer thing. It was so annoying in the cupboard. I am going to the outlet mall to buy extra plates (as my dream celadon square Chinese plates are too expensive ) and I will look for a rack. I think I am stressing about this meal too much but this jerk who is a huge fan of Alton Brown and generally a real Frasier Crane but without any good qualities, is coming to our dinner party. I won't let him think he is the only person that knows how to cook. I have been watching cooking shows since I was a kid. I think I better wind down now! Thanks Rachel for your help!

My steamer didn't come with a rack. I just sit it in the wok in the water. It seems to work fine as long as you don't let the water burn out. I did that one night and almost caught it on fire.

It was too funny. But I haven't done it since.

My MIL is filipino and she uses these all the time. Try fitting it over a pot, or she has a round metal bowl so it just sits on the sides easily.
