My son's party is this Saturday. The main dish is going to be turkey sloppy joes. Does anyone have any good suggestions for side dishes? The cake will not be IBS safe since I wanted Seasame Street on it and I am not artistic!

Oven fries or take sweet potato slices and cut with a cookie cutter and bake. Ok wait now I am seeing your son is 1 year old, I was thinking a party of little kids but I guess it will be adults. You can still make sweet potato cut outs though.

Ooooh good suggestions! Maybe turkey hotdogs? You can cut them in half and wrap them in some reduced fat bisquick dough to make Pups in a Blanket!

So I am still not clear on what sort of guests you will have but maybe make some potatoes of some kind and then marinate some veg and roast on high temp. Like portobello caps, bell peppers, onions, zucchini, tomato, eggplant, asparagus, fennel, artichoke, garlic cloves- marinate in italian dressing or worchestershire sauce or herbs and chicken broth. Salt and pepper well and roast, and put on a tray in pretty rows. Serve with some baguette or bread of some kind.
Ooo on second thought I would serve the roast veg with bread and with seasoned rice with maybe chicken broth and saffron and garlic powder?

Thanks guys for the suggestions! It will be kids and adults on Sat. The RKT are a good idea! I was looking on the recipe list and I am going to make a spagehtti salad and a few appetizers! That should be a good mix!
