I do:

- seedless jam
- baby food
- light non-dairy margarine + cinnamon-sugar
- honey

One day when I was out of jam and babyfood AND margarine (not a good day! LOL), I was desperate for something to put on my bagel, so I cooked a chopped banana in the microwave with a little brown sugar and nutmeg, and topped it with that. It was actually pretty good... I don't like bananas, so I haven't repeated the experiment, but someone who likes bananas would like that.

seedless jam like Sinead said
pumpkin butter (made from a recipe I found here on the message boards)
spray with Pam, sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar
not for breakfast necessarily but, spaghetti sauce and rice/soy cheese, then toast to make a safe "pizza"

A little bit of natural almond butter on one side and strawberry jelly on the other. Or pumpkin butter--it's kind of like apple butter but tastes like pumpkin pie--soo good! I get it at the natural food store.

Nice ripe avocado, just not too much! With salt, pepper, and a dribble of lemon juice.

Try this:Take roasted garlic(recipe in the archives),mash it with a fork and spread THAT on the bagel.AWESOME-drink some fennel tea later to compansate for any possible gas.

I also use the Tofutti Better Than Cream Cheese Spread which is just the best thing this side of the Mississippi - it tastes so good! I even use it to make cream cheese frosting for carrot cakes and NO one can tell the difference. Otherwise I use butter spray sometimes, or Soy Wonder peanut butter and honey. Yumm makes me want a bagel!

I second the roasted garlic- that or homemade BBQ sauce or even some smoked fish that I've pureed..

I always used to put creamcheese on my bagels too. When I started this diet I refused to accept the fact that there were other bagel toppings . In the past few months I've discovered that jelly/jam is a wonderful thing. There are so many flavors you're bound to find something you like.
