Okay, you think I'm kidding? I'm not. I've searched and searched for a white sandwich bread with NO high-fructose corn syrup, NO partially hydrogenated oil, and NO dairy products. I even asked on here if anyone had any suggestions. Well, I finally, finally found one! It's Rudi's Organic Bakery Country Morning White Bread, and I found it at Kroger. (And Ruchie, when/if you add gluten back--the bread is kosher.) Anyway, it's really good, with a nice chewy texture and completely safe ingredients.

Regular bread--it was on a little shelf of its own--obviously a new addition to the store, as I'd never seen it before, at any Kroger.

Don't have any Kroger's around here - if you can find any other healthy white breads in the store that aren't store exclusive, please post!

Most of the food stores around here offer fresh breads in addition to the usual slice Wonder etc., but they don't have much labeling on them if at all. I don't have much time to bake my own (not to mention when I do, I can never cut the slice even!)

Rudi's isn't a Kroger brand. I'm sure it's available at other stores. But since Kroger is the only store where I've seen it, I couldn't tell you where. Keep your eyes peeled.

If you're lucky enough to have a Whole Foods store near you, they sell their ORGANIC WHITE BURGER BUNS that are great and have the following ingredients: Organic Unbleached flour, filtered water, organic canola oil, organic egg whites, organic cane sugar, yeast, sea salt, lecithin, cultured wheat starch.

It is funny I came across this post today..... I went to PCC health store for my first "Safe Food" shopping trip...and Rudi's Organic Bakery Country Morning White Bread is what I bought.... I guess I am starting to understand what is ok to eat I also got some Boco Burgers, soy cheese, & soy mayo...... my hubby threw it on the grill for me last night...... YUMMY!! The bread was very chewy and very good.... the soy cheese was interesting feel....but the taste was no different to me. I never tasted the diffence in the soy mayo either..... this is a good thing!! Had a handfull of baked lays...... my plate did not look any different then my hubby did and he was eating beef and regular lays.... he said he will have to try the foods I'm eating too..... but he wants me to try first

Have you seen Grandma Sycamores bread? It's white sandwhich bread. It's really good too. It's made by the Sara Lee company. They also have a Sourdough bread to. Really yummy!!!!

I love fresh French bread for sandwiches, but I live with one other person, and I've never met a loaf of French bread short enough that two people could eat it before it went hard and stale.

I just found Grandma Sycamore's like a month ago! And it's really yummy! I didn't realize it was a national brand...the way it's packaged it looks like its made locally (plus mine says Mesa, AZ on the packaging, which made me think it was only local). So glad someone else enjoys it!
