1 1/8 cups water 1 tbsp vegetable oil 2 tbsp malt syrup, molasses or brown sugar ( I use the sugar) 3/8 mixed dried vegetable flakes 1 tsp salt 1/2 cup cornmeal 3 1/4 cups white flour 1 tbsp vital gluten (optional) 2 1/2 tsp active dry yeast
At the beep 5 minutes before the end of the knead cycle add: 3/8 cup olives (I substitute pureed spinach)
Shape into bagels (8 - 12). Shape into balls then poke a hole through and gently shape into bagels
Let rise in a warm draft free place for about 20 minutes
Fill a 4 to 6 quart pot with water 4 inches deep. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Drop bagels in one a a time (only a few at a time cause they puff up). SImmer for 30 seconds to 1 minute per side.
Place on cookie sheet coated with pam and some cornmeal. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes. Happy eating! Hint - goes well with the vegetable cream cheese recipe I posted)

I can't wait to try these... and thanks for the cream cheese ideas too! I have yet to try soy cream cheese, but this all might be some incentive to finally try it. Thanks!

You're welcome, love! Let me know how the soy cream cheese is. I can't get it where I am.
