Not sure if anyone found it for cheaper -- and still not sure if it is safe or not... but just thought I'd share in case anyone was interested.

I found mine at our Iowa State Fair but the website is www.kandkpopcorn.com It's from Shellsburg, Iowa and they have a toll free # 1-800-330-IOWA. The producer explained it to me that hulless popcorn still has hulls they are just much smaller than normal. I bought a microwave popcorn popper to make mine in from Walmart. It is a bit dry without butter, but after you make it, you can use some spray butter just to give it a touch of taste if you can stand using spray butter. Or, you could melt soy butter/margarine over it I suppose. I don't use those so don't really know about how that might work. That's what I know about this popcorn. Hope it helps some.

Just out of curiosity today I looked at a bag of caramel puffcorn and guess what?! it has 1.7 grams of fat per serving! The problem is one of the last things on the list is butter. I know it is very little though- more so that it can say butter and sound appetising I am sure. Anyway if little bits of dairy aren't an issue for you and you get an occasional snacky sweet tooth you might want to try caramel puffcorn. Yum

I just called Black Jewell to see where I could purchase the microwave popcorn in Massachusetts. Was told the Christmas Tree Shop, Stop and Shop, and Shaws. I have been to all these places and did not see it. The person on the phone told me I needed to ask them for it as there is some sort of distributor arrangement with these places. (it will need to be ordered) Was also told that "in the very near future" will be able to order from the web.

Was looking a the product details for the microwave popcorm and it mentions butter flavor?? Is that safe???

The problem with regular microwave popcorn are the hulls in it. They are not digested easily. Also butter would not be safe either. The Black jewel has no hulls in it when they pop. I have found some at my local Meijer store. However you will either need an air popper for it or a microwave popper because it is not in seperate bags. I melt some soy margarine on top and use salt. It is very yummy and I don't find it to plug me up. I am IBS-c.
