I have reg seeing the GI doctor who said that i have chronic gastric and conspiation. He gave me powder for conspation. I have acid reflux disease and hitatus hernia, ucler. I have little conispation pain. When I wanted to try peppermint my friends warned me that peppermint could cause heart problems. ( I have healthly heart) Almost all articles i read is that peppermint can cause heart burns The GI specialist told me that I may have IBS after I complained that I have been straining durung getting rid of stools and conspitation.
I had lower abdoinal pain three months ago and since I was taking Nexium and taking mulitvitamins liquid and I started drinking lacson ( sp ?) acid free milk i noticed it is getting better. But still problem is conspiation.
The question is is it true that peppermint can cause heart problems ?
Thanks
Suzy

To my knowledge, peppermint can cause "heartburn", but not heart problems. If you have acid reflux, you might want to stay away from the peppermint anyway, as it can cause some aggravation. If it's peppermint tea you're after, there are lots of others that work just as good, such as fennel, chamomile and ginger. Hope this helps you!

...brew it pretty strong for attacks! And it lovely with honey.

If you have bloating, try fennel. It tastes of licorice, so if you don't like that taste, then try mixing it with dried lavender.
