Best TV Commercial? And Worst?

I have a favorite commercial that I love to watch. It's the Rubber Man, advertising Office Max. He's so cool; I love watching him dancing to the tune, "Rubber Man," as he delivers office products. Very effective ad. Anyone seen it?
The worst commercial is GEICO with the stupid salamander who talks and gets awards. I always hit the remote.
You guys can tell I have nothing better to do than lie on the floor with my legs raised and blue ice on my back while watching reruns of "Andy Griffith." Right?
Okay, back to the floor....

Yeah, it's a gecko. Salamander. Skink. Same thing. Icky, creepy things. EWWWWW.
So what the heck does a skink have to do with car insurance? Because "gecko" sounds a little like GEICO? Dumb, DUMB! Does this sell car insurance? If so, we're really a very stupid society.
Now, about "Rubber Man...."
(Maybe it's just me, Becky, but in my old age, my tolerance level has fallen to zero.)

Most of the commercials I think are dumb are local ones, so no one would know them...
But has anyone seen the IKEA commercial (I know there aren't IKEA's all over) that has a lamp sitting at the end of the driveway all night, and it's raining and stuff...and then this funny voice goes, 'I bet you feel sorry for the lamp.....' It cracks me up because I'm always thinking, 'aw that poor lamp, why did they leave it there?'

Saw it on the Today show this morning. I was in a talent contest in 4th grade thats right 4th grade and dance to the rubberband man song using rubberbands in our moves. I'm lookin at these pics right now. I'm gonna shoot one over.

Have any of you seen the pepto-bismal commercial with the people having tummy issues and looking like they're doing the macherena or some other disturbing dance? I hate that ad! Reminds me way to much of what really does happen in my tummy! The best commercials are the ones for citibank where one person says something wrong and the other person says "thank you" and then it's alright again. There's one with a woman in the grocery store who asks a woman who isn't pregnant when she's due and the other where the woman starts demanding her boyfriend propose. I think they're both really funny. Those are my worst/best on TV now I would say.

We don't receive any stateside commercials. All of ours are informative about states, countries or military heros.
I can only talk about the old ones, Alka Seltzer I can't believe I ate the whole thing was a great one.

Yeah, Bev. I like the (I thought it was Rubber Band Man) Rubber Man, too. It makes me want to get up and dance.
I love any commercials with dogs in them. Especially the Dirt Devil ones. I'm a sucker for animals.
I will let you know later which is the worst one for me.. I know there are a lot but none come to mind right now.
BTW, Andy Griffith isn't that bad. I think he's kinda cute.

The DQ commercials crack me everytime. The Moolatte taste test one has me laughing every single time. When the lady is blindfolded and "chooses" the Moolatte as her favorite and then they ask her to give back the sample and she refuses and runs away (still blindfolded) and slams into a window with a blind on it. God, I just about pee my pants every time, she just slams into that thing! I don't care, commercial or not, that's gotta hurt LOL
Worst commercial, I really don't have one. Nothing really annoys me all that much. Some commercials are wierd to me, but not enough to change the channel

I dispise car and truck commercials, I KNOW THEY CRANK UP THE VOLUME ON PURPOSE!
Dairy Queen has a new one, this guy sticks his tongue on the mixer (his wife is baking brownies) and it accidentally gets turned on, you hear a lot of screaming, the next frame he is eating a Blizzard. or something like it. Tooo funny!
The cell phone commercial, I forget which company, they tell this little boy who is standing in the lunch line at school that he went over his macaroni minutes and just how does he plan on paying for it???? The look on his face is priceless! I love that kid, he is sooo cute. When that commercial comes on , I crack up before they even start to talk. LMBO, loudly!!

I can't believe it! I love that little guy!
I love the one where he is frolicking in the meadow with the woman.
I HATE the SIx Flags commercial with the old guy dancing around all funny (the young guy dressed as an old guy)
It plays such ANNOYING music in the background. Eve non the radio, too! I can never escape it!
I don't know if you have any Six Flags amusement parks by you, you may not get.
I cna't believe you hate my little gecko!

Remember one from a couple of years ago...
a guy and girl started getting hot and heavy on the kitchen table and the girl or guy (can't remember) looked over and saw the ceramic cow salt shaker "staring" at them, so one of them knowcked it on the floor and broke it! LMAO
That is one of my most favorite of all time. I want the same shaker just to remind me of it.... but it'd probably wind up broken cause that sounds like something I would do!

The most annoying commercial is the new one for Cinnamon Toast Crunch with the guy who has the super low voice and it's some guy doing a voice over. I HATE IT. It makes me wanna break the TV screen! lol I also hate the Ditech commercials and all the sappy medical commercials. BLAH
And I have to agree with the Moolatte commercial for being the best. Smashing into that window is hilarious!! That's exactly something I would do

If you like insurance commercials, check out AFLAC and the frustrated duck. Now THAT's cute. And, yeah, it kinda sells me. Well, maybe. Hmmm, come to think of it, I just like the duck.
Is that what it is with you and the gecko? You just like the slithery critter? Yeah, okay, I hear ya. But come on, it's a SKINK! Ew, gross! Not at all like a cute duck.
I especially like the commercial in which he climbs off the roller coaster, all dizzy and shaking his head.....
But nothing compares to the Rubber Man with the killer smile. I like it so much, I want to get up and dance with him. Does it sell me on Office Max? Sure! Well, maybe. Gee, not really.
Wow, I'm a hard sell....

I love the Six Flags commercial. It makes me laugh every time I see it.
But my favorite-----
the Toyota commercial where the father gets in the car with his teenage son and asks him if he's been driving the car. He says, "No, Dad, when are you gonna start trusting me?" And then they start the car up and the rock music is blaring from the radio, and the kid says, "Rock on, MOM!"
As the mother of 2 teenage sons, I think this is hilarious! Every time I get in one of my cars, the radio (or CD) is on so loud that I jump!!!!!! (You'd think I'd learn to turn it down first, but I'm a slow learner.)
I also HATE the Geico commercial and the Pepto Bismol one with the people dancing. I think that one's in poor taste!

I have yet to see the commercial you are talking about, but it so reminds me of us when we were high school.
My dad used to get so mad at us!! He used to grumble "Damn jungle music" LMAO
It makes me smile just thinking of him getting in groggy to start his work day only to be "awoken" by Jungle Music LOL

that caused me express my hatred for ducks! You have to drive in Charlotte to understand.
You'll be going 45-55 mph and a family of geese will just decide to waddle across the highway (babies following mom and dad). Everyone slams on their brakes---causing either a collison or the geese to become even more confused. Then they turn around and waddle slowly in the other direction---and you hear brakes screeching in the opposite lanes.
It's crazy! What normal person wants to run over a family of ducks, but then you can't just stop in the middle of the road (unless you wanna get rear-ended.)
They've even have a border collie service here that has tried to round them up---and that didn't work.
They poop all over everyone's yards, the golf course, and even show up on the patios of nice restaurants. Who wants to watch geese pooping while they're eating?
Sorry to vent! But now you understand why I hate the duck commercial.

Hi Bevrs My mom just LOVES that rubber band man commercial! when it came on the first time, she started singing to it. The next time it came on, we BOTH began singing to it. It's so upbeat! I agree with you that it is very effective.
Well...we don't agree on the GEICO commericals but hey - that's what makes the world so interesting. I think the GEICO commercials are all very clever, but the one I love the most is the one where all of the dogs are riding in the cars as their faces and characters are so expressive.
Do you watch TV Land, Bevrs? I do and one of the shows that I watch occasionally is Andy Griffith. That Barney is just hilarious to me. Anyway, it sounds like you've found a position that is good for you in which to watch those shows in...sorry for any pain you are in.  Keep on watching those comedies...they are so excellent for our sensitive systems.
Oh yes - Two commercials that I immediately mute are the one where the little boy is squirting his mom with orange soda in the kitchen and the one where another little angel lol just threw a bunch of candy wrappers on his poor, innocent dog who will no doubt get blamed for his love of the candy. I love that mute button!!!!!

Hi peaches I'm with YOU on those stupid Ditech commercials. So is my boyfriend Chris, who says that the one who does them must be the president of the company. lol
Hmmm...I don't think I know the Moolatte commercial. Maybe it hasn't been shown where I am? but then again, I have brain fog from my CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) so with me, you never know.

Up here it's not the geese that cause traffic problems -- it's the SALMON! Believe it or not, when the rivers up here flood, the salmon cross the road. I actually saw it on the news. Cars stop for the fish -- you bet! Oh, and if you try to catch them? It's illegal. You can get your fishing rod out and go down to the river and catch them, but not across the freeway. Go figure.
And if it's any consolation, geese are damn MEAN. (However, I love that AFLAC duck, just LOVE him!)

I LOVE the little old guy dancing.....He's dancing to the song "the jenga bus is comin and everbody's jumpin....(No clue who sings it) but everytime I see the commerical I sing that song to myself all day. It's such an upbeat song and some days we all need something upbeat huh!

When I was pregnant I was able to "indulge" in one and yep they are yummy. The French Vanilla one is to die for...mmmmmm Mooolatte!!!

I haven't watched TV in forever, so I can't say TV commercial, but I did see one at the movies last weekend. First off, let me start by saying, that I think it SUCKS that they have commericals at the movies now. I mean, gimme a break! Anyways...I did see this Starburst commercial at the movies last week, and for some strange reason it just really cracked me up. I think I just must have been in a goofy mood, but whatever.
Anyway, this guy is sitting on this couch at a party or something, and this girl comes over, sits on the couch, and picks a Starburst off the table, puts the whole thing wrapper and all in her mouth, then slides the wrapper out while looking at the guy. Guess it's supposed to be like the "Hey, I can tie a cherry stem in a knot with my tongue" type of thing.
So, the guy picks one up, and when he spits his out, it's kinda like an origami swan or something.
Like I said, pretty dumb, sucks they have commericals at the movies, but hey - this made me laugh.

I just thought of another one I hate. The one with the little puppy who's away at puppy camp and starts singing the song about K-9 Advantix. I HIT THE MUTE BUTTON!!!! The song gets stuck in my head all day and by now I absolutely loathe it I don't care whether the puppy is cute or not! Make the song stop!! lol

I absolutely love the Six Flags Guy. He looks just like my grandmother's boyfriend who passed away six years ago. It puts a smile on my face everytime I see it.
I also love the Geico commercial when the family is in the van singing traveling songs and all of a sudden someone breaks out singing Kung Fu Fighting. The camera pans into the car and it is the lizard. My husband looks over at me everytime this one is on to see me laugh.
The Rubber Band Man makes me smile too. I can't get that toon out of my head when I see that commercial.
