With each date I become more gitty! Hehe! He had told me to pick something to do last night so I was just going to suggest movies at his place and calling in pizza. I got home from work yesterday and I called and told him what I wanted to do and he said too late...I made us reservations. So we went to a nice resturant instead. He is a true gentleman! He was nervous so I carried our conversation until he had a couple of beers. I asked him questions like, what is quirky about you? I found out that we are both anal about things sometimes. Know any other good conversation starters that I could use to get to know him better tonight?? Any suggestions would be great!!

My husband and I play the would you rather game sometimes, you offer a terrible choice and then death is not an option. So like, would you rather eat a cockroach or a slug? You could also get one of those books of questions, I think one version is called "What If?" they're pretty fun.

I'm glad your dates are going so well! That's awesome!

Congrats on a new guy. That's always fun and exciting, especially if you think he is a keeper. Talk about favorite movies or books, or talk sports ( guys usually love that) . My husband and our grown sons talk sports all the time. They speak almost another language. Study up on ESPN... Just a thought.

what you don't know is that i'm terrible at this kind of thing. ok, here goes:

  • what kind of games did you play when you were a kid?
  • if you could travel anywhere, where would you go?
  • who's your favorite superhero?
  • what do you think dogs are thinking when they stare at the wall?
  • how is your relationship with your colon?
(ok, maybe not that last one!)
  • if you knew it were your last meal, what would you eat? (avoid any references to the electric chair or anything sexual, if possible)
  • did you have any nicknames growing up?
  • what's the last costume you wore? and why? (avoid any references to the electric chair or anything sexual, if possible)
  • what fad do you wish you hadn't taken part in?
  • can i see pictures!? (follow-up to previous question)
  • chocolate, vanilla or strawberry?
  • which do you prefer? a tropical island or a trip to the mountains in the snow?
  • do you think i'm pretty?

there, that should get you started!

You did GREAT, Davina! You don't need our help.

Just ask him about himself -- everyone loves talking about themselves -- try to find out his interests, hobbies, etc., and once he gets going, and when you find a mutual interest, you'll both have no problems talking about it.

Ask if he's ever been married, ever had kids, ask if he has any pets, tell him how much you love dogs -- that kinda stuff.

On the other hand, are you really attracted to him? He sounds like a bit of an introvert? (But, yes, definitely a gentleman! Those are really rare these days, I understand.)

Bev

I do really like him. I am usually the introvert but I am being forced to be the extrovert. I don't mind taking the lead, afterall, I am the one who asked him out. He is a gentleman for sure and I haven't been courted like this in several years. Once I get the conversation going then he joins in with me. He is just shy and I think that attacts me to him somewhat if that makes any sense. Makes me wonder what is going on in his cute little head.

I already know he isn't really a sports fan and I love that!! I am clueless when it comes to sports anyway. So this is good news about him!! Yea! He is more into riding his harley and playing the guitar..my kind of guy! Thanks again! I am taking all notes!
