I wasn't sure where to post this so I'm trying here. I've started taking the oxycodone that my doc gave me to try and combat the terrible tummy pains I've been having so that I'll be able to eat. They seem to be working ... I ate for the first time in 4 days yesterday and although I was still uncomfortable, I didn't feel like I need to go to the hospital so that's an improvement!
Problem is, I'm stuck in sorta a catch-22. I only took 1/2 a pill and I'm still having the "funny" side effects...dizziness, lightheadedness, trouble focusing, things like that. It's bad enough that if I take them I can't drive or work. So, I've got something that actually makes me feel better, but will prohibit me from working because of the side effects. On the flip side, if I don't take anything, I'm unable to eat (and occasionally even drink) so I go to work and just don't put anything into my mouth for nine hours.
Clearly neither or these options are overly appealing, so I thought I'd throw it out here for some feedback...has anyone been on this drug before and found anything that helped combat the side-effects? I don't know if there is anything, but I thought I'd ask.
Thanks guys! Kelly

My father's been on it for almost 2 years now for severe back pain from a car accident, and he has the same side effects. We haven't been able to figure anything out to combat them. Just be careful if you ever go on any blood pressure meds with oxycodone, it causes bad effects (at least in my dad). Just be careful when you take them, and at least they're helping!

Oxycodone affects me the same way. I hate it. Have you tried Vicodin? For me, it works for the pain and I do not get the bad side affects. I know that everyone is different, but just thought you might talk to your doctor about switching.
