I have been estranged from my family for many years. They don't even know where I am or how to get ahold of me. While I most certainly do not miss my mother or my younger brother, I mourn the loss of my big bro very much.

Enough of that.

I'm happy for you that you have such a good relationship with your bro; you're very fortunate. Family is everything.

Bev

I'm soooo sorry Bev. Please forgive me for asking such a personal question, and a difficult one at that. I'm at a loss for words...I sincerely hope that maybe someday things will turn around for you in that department. I also hope I haven't put a damper in your mood for your Anniversary! Are you getting excited to go out and eat?? And have a Jack or 2 or 3?

Wow Bev!

You look trim, taut and terrific and ready to take on the Olympics. Do I also detect a bit of attitude with the cap angle, bit of a feisty broad in fact?

No, Becky, there will never be a reunion; it's all history, all behind me now, I'm moving on. I'll always love my brother, but I can never have him in my life again.

No, sweetie, you didn't put a damper on my celebration. I've had 8 years of mourning; discussing it doesn't bother me any more.

Thanks for your concern.

Bev

We had a great day.

We got all cleaned up, and I pulled out my jewelry box, dusted it off, and went through all my old beauties. (I haven't changed earrings in 2 years!) It was fun "visiting" my old stuff. I put on a pant suit that hubby bought me for Christmas 2 years ago (that I've never worn before), and all he said to me was that I smelled good! (He paid for that BIG time!)

We drove down to the new property, where the builder was (are you ready?) INSTALLING THE UNDER-CABINET HALOGEN LIGHTING! Yaaaaay! (For those of you who don't recall, this was a big issue between me, the builder, and hubby!) The finish carpenter had finished the floor moulding, and did a real jazzy job where it meets the moulding of the fireplace -- OMG, it looks MAGNIFICENT! What a great anniversary gift!

We went down to the lake, where we walked MacKenzie and talked about all we've lived through the past 37 years. It was fun.

Then we drove to Anthony's on the Bay, where we sat by the window looking out at all the ships in the harbor. Beautiful. I had my Equalactin, French bread, and (of course) my friend, Jack. Then I had the Ponzo salmon salad bowl. OMG! It's to die for. No more Jack. For some reason, one was enough....?

We drove home, slowly, talking more about the past 37 years and all the homes we've bought and fixed up, and how nice it is to finally build a brand new house and have it all paid for, no mortgage, in our old age....

We got back to this tiny little condo, with me groaning about how I'm gonna last another 2 weeks and 1 day, and we curled up on the couch and fell fast asleep, where we slept for 2 hours.

I think we got slipped a couple of mickies in our Jack! Wow, that was SOME drink! We passed on our plans to go over to the clubhouse for more celebration. Whew!

Quite a difference from our wedding night..... Ah well, that's okay, because I wouldn't go back, even if I could. Times are much better now, believe me. (Right, Sis?)

Thanks for all your wishes, Guys!

Hey Sis,

Wow, sounds like you had a great anniversary, especially with the good news on the house. I bet the builder didn't know he was giving you an anniversary gift, too.

Having dinner (boy was I drooling when you talked about what you had to eat) while watching the ships in the harbor sounds wonderful.

And, yes, you are right about how things (even though different than the wedding night) are better after all these years as we learn more about what marriage and love are really all about.

Sis, you got it all together!!
