Hi, everyone...

So, I drove down to the beach where my parents are staying for a few days in their trailer and it was BEAUTIFUL. We walked to the beach, and then my mom totally spoiled me as if I weren't a grown woman. She made dinner, insisted on leaving the dishes for later... You name it, she did it.

My stomach felt pretty yucky all day yesterday because I tried taking the Ambien again the night before. (Laura Sue, I might be a total anatomical anomaly, but Ambien makes me feel like I'm going to puke. I've taken it three times and had the same result all three times.)

Anyway, all was pretty well until this morning. As soon as I put ANYTHING in my stomach, the D started. Usually I'm a "go once and get it over with" kind of gal, but it just kept coming. I took four trips to the bathroom and was just a cramping mess. So I started feeling sorry for myself (particularly now that I'm really TRYING to get better) and started crying.

I went back to my parents' trailer, and in that special way they have, they just looked at me a certain way, and I started crying again.

NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS. My parents are so understanding and so concerned. My mom talks about wanting to know what I can eat, about how I need to just say no if things will make me sick. My dad asks about alternative medicines and wants details. For all the stories people have about their families being unsupportive, uncaring, or inflexible, my family just wants me to get better and is willing to help and listen however they can. So even though my morning sucked on the IBS front, I feel really grateful.

I'm a blessed woman.

Christine: I'm sorry you were so sick, but glad your folks love and care for you! I wouldn't take the Ambien if it keeps making you sick-talk to your doctor. I'm an RN as well as an IBS'R, and I have never seen that side effect!!!But i've never given it to someone with IBS. there are other medications that can help you sleep! Take care of yourself and I cry during an attack at times too. Maryh

Bad news about the D. I'm a D person myself, and I know it ain't fun. Especially when you're not at home on your own toilet where you can make noises and cry if you want.

Your parents are absolutely SUPER! How wonderful for you! I'll bet your tummy felt a lot better after "spilling your guts" to them! What a relief, eh?

Check this out: web page It may help.
