Oh, gosh Lilybear! I'm so sorry that people in your life are so unsupportive! Please just remember that you need to do what is best for you and your body! I don't know if they can actually be educated about the truth of your condition, but it might be worth a try. If not, please keep your needs first!

Hang in there!

Oh dear me, LilyBear!

My apologies! OMG! That's SOOO not what I meant to say! I must have had too much Jack when I typed that! This is what I MEANT to say: "It may frustrate them, but having them be frustrated is far better than having you be sick."

Please accept my apologies.

You sure have a lot of responsibilities! Wow! You're in college, working, and supporting a family member! Oh my! That's certainly more stress than I could handle.

When your dad tells you he's worried about you, why not pull up a chair and sit down in front of him, hold his hand, and tell him how much you love him and how much you appreciate his concern. If he's unreceptive to these Boards, then you'll have to inform him about your IBS without mentioning the Boards. That means you'll have to inform yourself first. Read everything you can.

Check this out: web page I think it'll help.

Do you have an outlet for the stress? Have you considered the hypnotherapy program? It's a Godsend! Among the CDs that you get there's a special CD that's directed to people who don't have IBS, to explain what it is that you're going through. It would be terrific to have that for your dad; he could play it himself without your even being present. Think about ordering it if you can; it's well worth the money. Check out the link in here.

I admire you very much, LB. A young lady like you should be enjoying her life, going out with friends and having fun in college. It's so unfair for you to be burdened with as much as you have.

Remember this: "That which you survive only makes you stronger."
