I've been away for a few weeks so excuse me for asking you to repeat this stuff. What kind of publishing is it? Are you going to be moving?

Thanks Caryn.

I have to share a quick little fun factoid with you:

My father -- a native Mainer -- was an avid hunter. In the '40's he used to take his sleeping bag and rifle in the back woods of Maine in the middle of winter, by himself, and camp out in the snow (no sleeping bag!), waiting for a buck -- or bear.

Coincidentally, his name was Huntress -- of course my maiden name. "Huntress" is a female hunter.

With me so far?

When I was born, he wanted to name me Diana. You see, Diana was Goddess of the Hunt. A female hunter. My name would have been -- SHOULD have been -- Diana Huntress.

Bev

It sounds like even though your relationship with your mother/brothers was/is rough, its so nice to hear that you had such a special bond with your dad. I'm sure he's watching over you right now

um... it's a company that publishes scientific journals. they're big complex tomes that come out weekly, every other week, monthly, depending on the journal.

i don't have to move. it's great! the job is actually closer than the one i have now PLUS free parking (i love that part!).

ironically, when i move back out once my mom is better, i'm going to move back to downtown Baltimore, which is where my current job is. oh well! it will only be a 15 minute commute...

...teaching writing to kids in Louisville at the Young Writer's Workshop for three weeks. I teach kids 8-16 playwriting/feature writing/short stories. Obviously I like playwriting best. It was fun but exhausting!

Ah, scientific journals. My sister and my best friend are both grad students in biology fields (biochemistry and bioengineering) so maybe I've heard of your journals.

And I don't blame you for moving back downtown... I love living in the city. We're out in the suburbs now, and while I like the cheaper housing and the yard for the doggies, nothing beats being where the action is!
